Connecting with Mother Mary as the Divine Feminine
For many, Mother Mary has been connected to the Catholic Church.
Some like me have called her Mary. Others have felt her energy as the Great Mother.
But names are just doorways. But what now matters to me is the frequency and energy of something/someone.
Mother Mary, in this sense, is not a figure bound to religion, but an embodiment of the Divine Feminine in her most gentle and also powerful form. For me Mary is the energy of unconditional love that does not demand, does not punish and does not control.
Her energy feels like:
Warmth in your heart
A quiet voice that replaces shame with understanding
The permission to be human, messy, and still worthy
The kind of love that asks for nothing, yet transforms everything
This is not the fierce, raging aspect of the feminine. This is the devotional, healing, heart centered energy, and for many witches, this energy may be deeply needed for their path, especially to help to forgive those who have harmed them.
How to connect with Mother Mary without religion.
You don’t need prayers. Unless you feel that is the way you would like to connect with her. You are sovereign do what feels right to you.
You don’t need belief.
You don’t need to convert to anything.
You only need openness.
If you are feeling curious, feel free to try this.
Create a soft sacred space
Light a candle. Use white, pale blue candle Add water, a shell, or a white rose.
Call the frequency, or the figure
Whisper, think or say out loudly.
“I invite the energy of the Divine Mother, pure compassion, pure love, to be with me now.”
Sit and feel
Place your hand on your heart.
Breathe slowly.
Notice any warmth, heaviness, emotion, or stillness.
Her presence is subtle/gentle. She doesn’t overwhelm, her loving presence may feel like gentle breeze entering room or like a healing Motherly hug.
Let yourself be held in this sacred space.
If grief comes, let it, cry if you feel, without judgement or having to explain why.
If softness feels unfamiliar, try to stay in this space anyway, her energy is very balancing and calming.
If nothing happens, trust that something is still unfolding beneath the surface, repeat the above a few times. All is good and is exactly the way it is mean’t to be. Don’t force anything let the energy simply flow.
Working with her energy in your craft:
Welcome her energy to be present in healing spells and self love rituals
Call upon her for inner child work and for letting go rituals.
Weave her energy into water magic (baths, moon water, tears)
Invoke her and welcome her energy when you need gentleness instead of force
She does not amplify power through dominance
She transforms through devotion and presence.

The Divine Feminine has always existed beyond systems and religion.
Patriarchy turned her into something controlled and distant.
Mother Mary’s true essence is that
She belongs to no man made institution.
She is accessible to anyone who would to soften and work with her.
Creating a sacred space.
You can place a statue of her on your alter space and as an offering you can put a white rose or a put a few white rose petals in a small bowl, filled with water.
